What to expect from your Physiotherapy appointment at Flawless Physio
At Flawless Physio our goal is to provide you with the best possible care and guidance for your injury. All of our clinicians are highly trained and we allow 1 hour for your initial appointment to ensure your clinician can deliver a thorough assessment.
Firstly, your therapist will discuss with you, your current symptoms and the circumstances through which they developed. This allows them to gain a thorough understanding of how your symptoms are affecting you and will enable them to consider your treatment options to develop the best plan for you.
Your therapist will next carry out a physical assessment, to examine your movement patterns, strength and mobility. When relevant, they will ask you to demonstrate task or sport specific movements. Specialist orthopaedic and neurological tests may also be appropriate depending on the presenting issue.
Drawing together all of the information gathered from your assessment, your therapist will explain your diagnosis and the best treatment options for you. You will receive treatment within this appointment, along with specific advice and exercises. A video of how to do these exercises will be emailed to you, acting as a reference point so you don’t have to worry about forgetting any details.
We aim to conclude your appointment with you having a greater understanding of your injury and confidence in what the next steps are in your recovery.
When is the right time to have Physiotherapy?
In short, anytime!
In fact we recommend that you receive treatment as soon as possible. Yes, rest can be beneficial but outcomes are not as good as relative rest combined with the appropriate treatment and specific exercises. The old ethos of bed rest for an injury has been de-bunked. We encourage some form of movement or exercise, whether your injury is one day old or months in the making.

Is Physiotherapy right for me? Perhaps I need to see an Osteopath or Chiropractor instead?
This is a question that we get asked regularly. At Flawless Physio we would never recommend one form of healthcare professional over another. People respond differently to various treatments.
Physiotherapy is appropriate for all forms of injury, whether that be to your neck, back, knees or hands. We are specialists in diagnosis and we have a variety of treatment methods for all forms of injuries and all types of people. At Flawless Physio, we pride ourselves in facilitating and educating you, so that you won’t be dependent on us for life.
Do I need to bring anything?
We recommend that you bring some loose clothing that you are free to move in. This enables your Physiotherapist to see the area of treatment. For issues from the hip down, please bring shorts or leggings. If you have a sports related injury, please bring the attire that you would wear during these activities.
For those who have private medical insurance, please provide your insurance details prior to attending your appointment. We are recognised by most major insurance companies so please contact us prior to your appointment to confirm we are recognised.
We look forward to meeting you.
