Remedial massage is the assessment and treatment of soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue). Your remedial massage therapist can treat muscle tension, chronic pain, sports injuries or soft tissue dysfunctions arising from a particular condition or pathology (ex: diabetes, osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder and many others).
Deep Tissue Massage
Similar to Swedish massage that targets the more superficial layers, deep tissue massage, as its name suggests, works the deeper layers of the muscle. Your practitioner might use their hands, fingers, knuckles or forearm to reach the desired depth by slowly working on the tissues encouraging the to relax to allow for deeper pressure.
Unlike a typical massage, this treatment aims to address your aches and pains related to pregnancy such as back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, swelling or other concerns. We use a variety of techniques including swedish, deep tissue, MET, NMT, stretching, mobilisation. Depending on your needs and preferences, we can make this treatment a relaxing one with a lighter touch or address deeper tensions.
Post-natal massage aims to help normalise the tissues after all the physical and hormonal changes your body has gone through during pregnancy. This is also the time for you to relax and reconnect with your body after giving birth.
Do I need to bring anything?
We recommend you wear appropriate loose clothing as your therapist may be working directly on your skin and thus require you to expose areas of your body. We have shorts and towels to keep you covered and comfortable during your treatment.
